President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have celebrated the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on his 75th birthday.

In a statement yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Dr. Ganduje’s unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and impactful contributions to the progress of Kano State and the nation.

The President said Ganduje’s tenure as APC national chairman has shown his strategic leadership, which has fortified the party’s unity and delivered remarkable electoral successes.

He said the APC national chairman’s ability to inspire teamwork and his commitment to Nigeria’s democratic ideals were pivotal in advancing the country’s developmental aspirations.

“Dr. Ganduje’s decades of public service, from his early contributions as a pioneer civil servant in the Federal Capital Territory to his tenure as Governor of Kano State, reflect a lifetime of commitment to excellence and nation-building,” the statement said.

Recalling his early political journey, the statement acknowledged Ganduje’s pivotal roles, including his time as deputy governor and later as a two-term governor of Kano State.

The President recalled that from 2015 to 2023, Ganduje implemented policies and programmes that left a transformative legacy in governance and infrastructure development in Kano.

President Tinubu also recognised Ganduje’s steadfast support for the APC’s vision, noting his invaluable policy contributions and collaborative efforts that continue to shape the party’s mission for a stronger Nigeria.

Joining family, friends, and party stalwarts, the President celebrated the national chairman’s resourcefulness and dedication to public service, expressing confidence in Ganduje’s ongoing contributions to the party and the nation’s progress.

He prayed for Ganduje’s continued health, happiness, and success, encouraging him to maintain his passion and commitment to national service.

In a statement by its spokesman Felix Morka, APC described Ganduje as an astute leader, administrator, scholar, philanthropist, and savvy politician who continues to distinguish himself in the many public offices he has been privileged to serve.

The party noted Ganduje’s role in achieving “spectacular successive electoral victories” and consolidating its position as “Africa’s largest and preeminent political party”.

“Dr. Ganduje’s consultative and inclusive approach has fostered a culture of unity and cooperation in our great Party and positioned it to effectively support the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration,” APC said.

The party added that under Ganduje’s leadership, it has achieved laudable feats, including the planned digitisation of the Party’s membership register, the establishment of a Progressive Institute and policy think tank, and enhanced synergy between the Party and the government in delivering electoral promises to Nigerians.“

On behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC), leaders, members and supporters of our great Party, we rejoice with a great achiever on this special occasion of his 75th birthday anniversary.

“We pray the Almighty Allah, in His mercies, to grant our National Chairman long life, wisdom and good health as he continues his service to our great Party and country,” the statement added.
