Breaking: Efcc arraigns Yahaya Bello before FCT Court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought Yahaya Bello, the erstwhile governor of Kogi State, before a court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on accusations of committing fraud while in office.

Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, has appeared at a court in Abuja for a hearing related to an alleged fraud of 10 billion naira.

Bello was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in April 2024.

He reported at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday and was quizzed.

He was taken to court on Wednesday morning.

Since filing the charges against the former governor, the commission has not been able to bring him to court for arraignment.

The commission had initially filed 19 charges against Bello.

The charges was made along with his nephews Ali Bello, Dauda Suliman and Abdulsalam Hudu for money laundering offences amounting to over N80bn
