The developments comes days after the Kwara State Police Command confirmed the arrest of a 29-year-old man for allegedly murdering and dismembering a 23-year-old female student, Yetunde Lawal of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin.

The case began when Yetunde’s father reported her missing. Acting on the complaint, detectives tracked the victim’s phone, which led them to the suspect’s residence, where he was arrested.

Reports surfaced on Saturday morning that the police had discovered the remains of the missing student.

During interrogation, the suspect initially denied any knowledge of Yetunde’s whereabouts. However, during a search of his house, he allegedly confessed, claiming that she had died of asthma.

Shockingly, security operatives found Yetunde’s dismembered body inside a bowl in the suspect’s house, further raising suspicions about the motive behind the crime.

Sources say Yetunde and the suspect met online and started a relationship before he invited her over. She was last seen on February 10, and her body was discovered four days later in his home.

Yetunde Lawal was a final-year student at the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin. She was the first child of her family, and both her parents are still alive.
