{"id":8113,"date":"2022-08-06T20:21:38","date_gmt":"2022-08-06T20:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/?p=8113"},"modified":"2022-08-06T20:21:41","modified_gmt":"2022-08-06T20:21:41","slug":"radiographers-board-suspends-unizik-lecturer-over-social-media-posts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/radiographers-board-suspends-unizik-lecturer-over-social-media-posts\/","title":{"rendered":"Radiographers Board Suspends UNIZIK Lecturer Over Social Media Posts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Disciplinary Committee of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) has suspended a member, Dr. Anthony Chukwuka Ugwu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ugwu is a lecturer in the Department of Radiography, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RRBN Registrar, Professor Mark Okeji, the secretary of the disciplinary, announced the sanction against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okeji said Ugwu, the owner of St. Michael Diagnostic Center in Nnewi, was found guilty of misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The offences included unethical behavior, unwholesome acts, and infamous conduct in contravention of the code of conduct and ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others were derogatory remarks about the board and his senior colleague as well as the circulation of an official letter, not addressed to him, on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board considered the actions \u201cas disrespectful, abusive, insulting and unwholesome and unbecoming of a professional\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ugwu was suspended for 24 months within which he cannot practice as a radiographer or get involved in any activity as a radiographer, effective August 5, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The doctor was also ordered to pay N1 million to offset the incidentals incurred by the board<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Disciplinary Committee of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) has suspended a member, Dr. Anthony Chukwuka Ugwu.
