{"id":56044,"date":"2026-01-10T11:27:27","date_gmt":"2026-01-10T11:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ideemlawful.com\/?p=56044"},"modified":"2026-01-10T11:30:05","modified_gmt":"2026-01-10T11:30:05","slug":"bandits-threaten-oyo-town-with-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/bandits-threaten-oyo-town-with-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Bandits Threaten Oyo Town With Fresh Attack"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There is growing anxiety among residents of Ikoyi-Ile town in Oyo State following an alleged plan by suspected bandits to launch an attack on the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ikoyi-Ile is one of the towns in Oriire Local Government Area, the same council where five persons were reportedly killed a few days earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some gunmen believed to be bandits reportedly opened fire and killed five individuals at the old Oyo National Park situated in Oloka village, Oriire Local Government Area, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fresh details emerging indicate that the suspected bandits allegedly informed residents that the attack would take place on Tuesday, 20 January this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The information was reportedly contained in two separate notes said to have been written by the bandits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The notes were allegedly dropped at both the front and rear of a building within the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the handwritten notes, written in the Yoruba language and bearing neither an address nor a signature, was titled, \u201cLati Odo Bandit\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See the photo below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" data-id=\"56056\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ideemlawful.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-20260109-wa0132-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"img 20260109 wa0132\" class=\"wp-image-56056\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-20260109-wa0132-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-20260109-wa0132-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-20260109-wa0132-585x780.jpg 585w, https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-20260109-wa0132.jpg 780w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bandits stepped up attacks across several communities in northern Nigeria towards the end of 2025.
