Adamawa State government has announced the closure of 30 boarding junior secondary schools in the state out of the 34 junior schools over insecurity.<\/div>\n

The closure, according to a statement by the commissioner of education and human capi\u00adtal development, Mrs. Wilbina Jackson, is to take effect from today till further notice.<\/div>\n

The statement said the move was a proactive measure to en\u00adsure the safety of students in view of the insecurity bedevil\u00ading the country.<\/div>\n

The four schools that will not be affected by the closure are the Government Girls Junior Sec\u00adondary School, Yola; General Murtala Mohammed College, Yola; Special School, Jada; and Special School, Mubi.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Education and Hu\u00adman Capital Development, wish\u00ades to announce that 30 boarding junior secondary schools out of the 34 schools in the state, have beende-boarded witheffectfrom 6th September, 2021. From now henceforth, all the 30 govern\u00adment junior secondary schools are now day schools.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe remaining four that are not affected are Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Yola; General Murtala Moham\u00admedCollege, Yola; SpecialSchool, Jada and Special School Mubi.<\/div>\n

\u201cThis becomes necessary due to the present incessant se\u00adcurity challenges faced by the country and owing to students\u2019 tender age, hence the need for them to study under the care of their parents.<\/div>\n

\u201cAll students from the affect\u00aded schools are to be placed in the nearest public junior secondary schools within their catchment or domicile areas.
