There was mild drama at an Access Bank branch after an elderly man reportedly took down the bank\u2019s signboard to protest what he described as repeated, unexplained debit alerts on his account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyewitnesses said the visibly aggrieved man arrived at the branch, demanding an explanation for several unauthorized deductions. When his complaints were allegedly ignored, he removed the bank\u2019s outdoor signboard, declaring he would not return it until his money was refunded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Videos circulating online show the elderly man walking away with the bank\u2019s signboard in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along the way, curious onlookers stopped him to inquire about the incident and eventually collected the signboard from him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident has fueled social media discussions about the rising frustration of bank customers facing unresolved debit alerts and poor response from financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Facebook user, Prince AdeDeji Lordswill, suggested the man must have been provoked by the bank\u2019s staff before reacting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Only God knows how much they infuriated the old man inside the bank before he could make such crazy act,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another user, Catherine Nwagwu, humorously noted that despite the man wearing his traditional isi agu<\/em> attire and red cap \u2014 symbols of respect \u2014 the bank still did not take him seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPapa this people no really rate your isi Agu, you even added your red cap yet they didn\u2019t take you seriously.
