{"id":30265,"date":"2025-10-24T12:22:23","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T12:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/?p=30265"},"modified":"2025-10-24T12:22:27","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T12:22:27","slug":"breaking-police-re-arrest-sowore-minutes-after-court-grants-him-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/breaking-police-re-arrest-sowore-minutes-after-court-grants-him-bail\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Police Re-Arrest Sowore Minutes After Court Grants Him Bail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Operatives of the Nigerian police have allegedly assaulted and re-arrested human rights activist Omoyele Sowore outside the Kuje Magistrate Court, forcing him into a waiting vehicle shortly after he was granted bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eyewitnesses at the court said the incident occurred moments after the magistrate approved bail for Sowore and 13 others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <em>Sahara Reporters<\/em>, while his lawyers were working to finalize the bail conditions, police officers led by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO), CSP Ilyasu Barau, Officer in Charge of Anti-Vice under the DC-CID, FCT Command, punched Sowore and shoved him into a police van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An eyewitness reported that the former ADC presidential candidate resisted as officers attempted to take him away without providing any explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe IPO punched him, dragged him on the ground, and forced him into the van. They really manhandled him,\u201d an eyewitness said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another source added, \u201cWhen we asked to see the remand order they claimed to have obtained, the officer refused to show any document.
