{"id":30252,"date":"2025-10-24T11:39:22","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T11:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/?p=30252"},"modified":"2025-10-24T11:39:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T11:39:31","slug":"report-links-ipob-networks-to-online-fueling-of-christian-genocide-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/report-links-ipob-networks-to-online-fueling-of-christian-genocide-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"Report Links IPOB Networks to Online Fueling of \u2018Christian Genocide\u2019 Claims"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A new open-source intelligence investigation by <em>TheCable<\/em> has revealed that social media accounts linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) played a key role in amplifying claims of a \u201cChristian genocide\u201d in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the analysis, data from X (formerly Twitter) between January 1 and October 1, 2025, recorded over 165,000 mentions of the subject, reaching an estimated 2.83 billion users\u2014over twelve times Nigeria\u2019s population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report noted that popular hashtags driving the trend included #Christiangenocide, #LaraLogan, #TruthNigeria, and #BiafraExitNow, with the latter standing out for its separatist undertone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Confidence MacHarry, a Senior Analyst at SBM Intelligence, explained that the \u201cChristian genocide\u201d narrative was first initiated by IPOB as far back as 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>TheCable\u2019s<\/em> investigation further revealed that X accounts supporting IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu and promoting Biafra\u2019s independence were among the most active in spreading the narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report also explored the international dimension of the campaign, noting that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz\u2014who had called for sanctions against Nigeria\u2014received over $1.8 billion in donations from AIPAC, a powerful pro-Israel lobbying organization, suggesting a complex link between global politics, separatist motives, and religious advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The controversy resurfaced after the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) refuted comments made by Presidential aide Daniel Bwala, accusing him of misrepresenting its position following his visit to CAN\u2019s headquarters in Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There have been growing claims and counterclaims online since several American senators accused the Nigerian government of committing genocide against Christians.
