The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has taken over the construction of a 250-bed hostel project initiated by the Ilorin Central Jumma\u2019at Mosque in Ilorin, Kwara State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dangote formally notified the mosque management of his decision to fund the proposed \u20a61.1bn ultramodern hostel project at the University of Ilorin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon completion, the 250-bed facility will generate yearly rental income from students, with proceeds dedicated to the maintenance and sustainability of the mosque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The secretary of the Board of Trustees of the mosque, Shehu AbdulGafar, revealed Dangote\u2019s intervention at a press conference in Ilorin on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He confirmed that the mosque committee had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Ilorin for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the agreement, the mosque will own and manage the hostel for 21 years before transferring ownership back to the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AbdulGafar added that, aside from sponsoring the construction, Dangote has also pledged a monthly donation of \u20a65m to support the mosque\u2019s routine upkeep until the project is completed \u2014 a commitment he began last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that Dangote\u2019s contribution would secure the long-term sustainability of the mosque\u2019s operations while also providing students of the university with modern and decent accommodation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
