A man identified as Eze Amadi<\/strong> has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command<\/strong> for allegedly killing 28-year-old Ifeanyi Otu<\/strong> in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area<\/strong> of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The command\u2019s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade<\/strong>, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria<\/strong> in a telephone interview on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayanlade confirmed that investigations were ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killing, adding that the suspect would face court charges once inquiries were completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged residents of the community to remain calm, assuring them that justice would prevail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe suspect is already in our custody, investigation is ongoing and after investigation is concluded, he will be charged to court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I urge residents to remain calm over the matter,\u201d Ayanlade said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Reports indicate that Kajola community residents were thrown into mourning on Monday following the alleged killing of Otu by the suspect in his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains unclear what led to the incident between the suspect and the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to findings, the suspect allegedly tortured the 28-year-old to death before concealing his body inside a water drum<\/strong>, planning to dispose of it at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some residents apprehended the suspect while he attempted to transport the corpse on a motorcycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was gathered that the victim\u2019s father, Mr. Michael Otu<\/strong>, and the suspect lived in the same neighbourhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One resident, who pleaded anonymity, said: \u201cNobody knows what transpired between them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim\u2019s father described the killing as devastating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was at home when I received a call that my son\u2019s body, wrapped with foam, had been discovered inside a water drum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I got to the scene, I saw him lying lifeless after the drum was cut open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
