Issued by INEC, it also serves as valid proof of identity in various situations. Without it, no citizen can participate in elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is CVR?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CVR stands for Continuous Voter Registration. It is an ongoing process by INEC that enables eligible Nigerians to register for voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria for Online Voter Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>New Voters:<\/strong> Citizens aged 18 and above<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Existing Voters:<\/strong> Those wishing to collect or transfer PVCs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lost or Damaged PVCs:<\/strong> Individuals seeking replacement<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steps to Register for PVC Online<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 1: <strong>Visit the INEC Voter Registration Portal<\/strong><br>Go to the INEC CVR portal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cvr.inecnigeria.org\">www.cvr.inecnigeria.org<\/a>. On the homepage, click \u201cGet Started.\u201d New voters should select \u201cNew Voter Pre-Registration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those replacing lost PVCs or updating records, other service options are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note:<\/em> INEC warns against multiple registrations, which can invalidate your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 2: <strong>Create and Verify Your Account<\/strong><br>Provide your name, phone number, email, and password to create an account. An instant verification link will be sent to your email (check spam if not visible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the link to verify, then log in and accept the declaration form confirming that all information provided is accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 3: <strong>Fill in the Online Registration Form<\/strong><br>Enter your biodata, contact details, place of birth, and residential address. Choose your polling unit. Uploading a valid ID (NIN, passport, or driver\u2019s license) is optional but recommended for quicker verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click \u201cSave and Continue\u201d to submit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 4: <strong>Upload Your Photographs<\/strong><br>INEC requires two passport photos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One with a neutral expression<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One with a smile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure photos are clear and well-lit before uploading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 5: <strong>Book an Appointment for Biometrics<\/strong><br>Schedule a date for fingerprint and facial capture at the nearest INEC centre.
