{"id":14221,"date":"2023-08-06T14:11:36","date_gmt":"2023-08-06T13:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/?p=14221"},"modified":"2023-08-06T14:11:39","modified_gmt":"2023-08-06T13:11:39","slug":"nysc-clears-air-on-plan-to-send-corps-members-for-military-operations-in-niger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/nysc-clears-air-on-plan-to-send-corps-members-for-military-operations-in-niger\/","title":{"rendered":"NYSC Clears Air On Plan To Send Corps Members For Military Operations In Niger"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has dismissed speculations of plans to deploy serving and prospective corps members for military operations to restore democracy in troubled Niger Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NYSC-members-3-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NYSC-members-3-jpg.webp 696w, https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NYSC-members-3-jpg-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/ideemlawful.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NYSC-members-3-jpg-585x329.webp 585w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Recall in July 2023, Niger soldiers announced the removal of President Mohamed Bazoum from office in a coup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The soldiers said they have dissolved the constitution, suspended all institutions, closed the country\u2019s borders, and held the president hostage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, a video circulating on social media alleged that corps members would be deployed to fight a war for the restoration of democracy in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement on Saturday, Eddy Megwa, NYSC director of press, said the information is false.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Megwa said corps members and their parents should disregard the information, which he described as capable of subverting the peace of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement read; \u201cthe attention of NYSC management has been drawn to a video circulating on the social media alleging that corps members would be deployed to Niger Republic by the federal government to fight a war for the restoration of democracy in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cManagement wishes to state that there is no iota of truth in the story fabricated by the purveyor, a skit and content creator, purposed to drive traffic to his platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe general public, especially corps members, prospective corps members and their parents should disregard the story which borders on criminality in its entirety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cContent and skit makers are strongly advised to desist from spreading false information capable of subverting the peace of the nation.
