The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday, said \u201cit is necessary\u201d for the world to grasp a balanced understanding of Islam in a way that corrected misperceptions toward the millennia-old religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is necessary\u2026to have a better understanding of the religion, away from its misconstrued teachings and perceptions as a way to achieving global peace, harmony and progress,\u201d Buhari said after touring the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet\u2019s Biography and Islamic Civilisation in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement signed by the President\u2019s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the tour formed part of Buhari\u2019s engagement in the Holy City as his official visit entered its second day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the statement titled \u2018President Buhari makes case for futuristic, untainted global education on Islam,\u2019 he said the spread of true knowledge of the religion of Islam was the most important task now facing global Muslims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President also said that the Muslim community needed a futuristic system, bringing knowledge and education in a new system that would make for a good understanding of the very features of the religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He commended the Saudi government for \u201cdeploying the latest technological tools in presenting the core of Islam, its lofty purposes and qualitative teachings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He praised the Saudi authorities for their efforts to take the world to the established roots of Islamic civilisation, adding that a more concerted international effort was needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, the Museum \u201cseeks to preserve and present Islam in its true and pure image, and in its noble and elevated teachings, and that it is a message of mercy, love, justice, peace, and moderation, through cultural exhibitions and museums where the beauty of buildings and the majesty of meanings are combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt also seeks to provide a comprehensive cultural overview of the Prophet, his noble manners, great morals, and flexible teachings, in a distinct scientific and research-based approach, using the latest technologies, and the most advanced and creative presentation tools.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
