A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and led by factional National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman, has scheduled Tuesday, November 18th, for its Board of Trustees (BoT) and NEC meetings.
The schedule for the Board of Trustees and National Executive Council meeting was made known by the factional National Secretary, Sam Anyawu.
According to the notice, the meetings would be held at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
“Attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed,” Anyawu stated.:
Recall that the party recently held its controversial national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. A chieftain of the PDP, Chief Olabode George, moved a motion to expel Wike, Ayodele Fayose, Sam Anyawu and others for alleged anti-party activities.
The event was attended by Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), along with other party leaders.
Although some of the party’s governors have distanced themselves from the expulsion. Governor Fintiri of Adamawa and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau states said they have no hand in it.
The national convention also saw the PDP elect Kabiru Turaki, the former minister of special duties and intergovernmental affairs, as its national chairman. Turaki, the only candidate vying for the top job, secured 1,516 votes
