The Federal Government have resumed negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of Universities over the lingering strike.
The meeting which includes other notable stakeholders as earlier reported by this medium started around 5:30pm upon the arrival of the Chief of Staff.
Meanwhile, an unofficial source reported that the union is considering calling off the strike for 90 to 120d days after the strike would continue if nothing is done by the Federal Government.

ASUU has earlier tweeted “The scene of the meeting between the FG and the @NigerianASUU ASUU at the villa. The meeting started at around 5.30pm upon the arrival of the Chief of Staff to the President.
ASUU further stressed that “Nothing is official yet. We shall update you upon confirmation at the end of the meeting.”
The Chief of Staff, Gambari is also reported to have said “Mr president said we shouldn’t return home if we have not settled the striking union and send you back to office, we are here for peaceful dialogue and that’s why we are here with our various religious leader to appeal to you
