Some terrorists have reportedly launched a deadly attack on Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State around 5:52 a.m., abducting several students.
According to Humangle, the attack resulted in the death of one staff member, while a guard was injured.
The report added that residents say the attackers are still around and are calling on the security operatives to rescue the abducted girls.
“We know they are still around the area. Government must move fast if these children are to be rescued,” a resident told HumAngle
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have yet to release a statement on the attack.
In recent years, Kebbi State has been noted as one of the hotspots in school abductions, reflecting the broader wave of insecurity sweeping across Nigeria’s northwestern region. The most notable incident occurred on June 17, 2021, when armed attackers invaded the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri.
