US Congressman Accuses Obama, Biden of Using USAID to Fund Boko Haram

A U.S. Congressman, Scott Perry, has alleged that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) financed Boko Haram and other terrorist groups during the administrations of former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Perry, a Republican representing Pennsylvania, made the accusation during the inaugural hearing of the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency held on Thursday.

The session, titled “The War on Waste: Stamping Out the Scourge of Improper Payments and Fraud,” examined alleged mismanagement and misuse of taxpayer funds.

“Who gets some of that money? Does that name ring a bell to anybody in the room? Because your money, your money, $697 million annually, plus the shipments of cash funds in Madrasas, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, ISIS Khorasan, terrorist training camps. That’s what it’s funding,” Perry said.

According to the subcommittee’s website, it intends to “actively work with President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency to root out waste, shore up vulnerable payment systems, and fully investigate schemes to defraud taxpayers.”

Perry further cited USAID’s reported allocation of $136 million for constructing 120 schools in Pakistan, claiming there was “zero evidence” that the schools were ever built.

Perry added, “If you think that the programme under Operation Enduring Sentinel entitled Women’s Scholarship Endowment, which receives $60 million annually, or the Young Women Lead, which gets about $5 million annually, is going to women who, by the way, if you read the Inspector General’s report, is telling you that the Taliban does not allow women to speak in public, yet somehow you’re believing, and American people are supposed to believe, that this money is going for the betterment of the women in Afghanistan. It is not.

“You are funding terrorism, and it’s coming through USAID. And it’s not just Afghanistan, because Pakistan’s right next door.

“USAID spent $840 million in the last year, the last 20 years, on Pakistan’s education-related programme. It includes $136 million to build 120 schools, of which there is zero evidence that any of them were built. Why would there be any evidence? The Inspector General can’t get in to see them.

“But you know what? We doubled down and spent $20 million from USAID to create educational television programs for children unable to attend the physical school. Yeah, they can’t attend it, because it doesn’t exist. You paid for it.

“Somebody else got the money. You are paying for terrorism. This has got to end.”

U.S. President Donald Trump has previously called for USAID’s closure, accusing the agency of corruption in a post on his Truth Social platform.

The move aligns with Trump’s—and his billionaire ally Elon Musk’s—initiative to reduce government bureaucracy.

Musk, whom Trump appointed to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, has also criticised USAID, calling it “a viper’s nest of radical-left Marxists who hate America,” and vowing to dismantle it.

Among other claims, Musk alleged that USAID engaged in “rogue CIA work” and funded bioweapon research, including COVID-19.

Trump said DOGE would “dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excessive regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies — essential to the ‘Save America’ movement. This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in government waste, which is a lot of people!”

Trump Revokes Security Clearances for Biden, Others – says “Payback time”

ideemlawful profile1iDeemlawful March 22, 2025
ideemlawful profile1iDeemlawful

Late Friday night, he issued a memo rescinding security clearances and access to classified information for a slew of erstwhile opponents including Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Joseph R. Biden Jr. and “any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family.”

Mr. Trump had said back in February that he planned to remove his predecessor’s access to classified intelligence briefings. It was payback — Mr. Biden had done the same to him after he left office in the days after the Jan 6. attack on the U.S. Capitol.

A variety of figures who’ve tangled with Mr. Trump at one point or another were named in Friday’s memo. Some had already been mentioned by Trump officials as people who would soon have their security clearances revoked, so their inclusion in Friday’s memo did not come as a shock. But taken together, the catalog of names read like an enemies list.

There were New York’s top two law enforcement officials, Letitia James (the New York attorney general) and Alvin L. Bragg (Manhattan’s district attorney), both of whom took on Mr. Trump.

There were prominent characters from the first impeachment brought against Mr. Trump in 2019, when he was shown to have tried to strong-arm Ukraine into helping him dig up dirt on Mr. Biden. Names included in Friday’s memo: Fiona Hill, a top foreign policy expert who testified during the impeachment hearings; Alexander Vindman, a lieutenant colonel who also testified; and Norman Eisen, a lawyer who oversaw that impeachment.

And there were the only two Republicans who served on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

“I also direct all executive department and agency heads to revoke unescorted access to secure United States government facilities from these individuals,” Mr. Trump’s memo stated. “This action includes, but is not limited to, receipt of classified briefings, such as the President’s Daily Brief, and access to classified information held by any member of the intelligence community by virtue of the named individuals’ previous tenure in the Congress.”

Since returning to office, Mr. Trump has used memos like the one he put out Friday to thwack at people who have tried to hold him accountable or who have otherwise crossed him. The memos have been wide-ranging in scope. Earlier this week, he put out one that pulled security protections for Mr. Biden’s adult children, Ashley and Hunter.

Last month, Mr. Trump nixed security clearances for Antony J. Blinken, the former secretary of state, and Jake Sullivan, the former national security adviser (both of whom were named again in Friday’s memo).

Mr. Trump has also stripped the security detail of his own former aides. Within hours of taking office, he targeted John Bolton, his former national security adviser turned enemy. Mr. Trump later did the same to Mike Pompeo, his former secretary of state, and a former aide, Brian Hook

The former U.S. president, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., and current U.S. president, Donald John Trump, have allegedly given Israel the authority to terminate the ceasefire agreement with the Palestinians in Gaza.

if Hamas disrupts the second phase, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The ceasefire, set to take effect on January 19, 2025, at 8:30 local time, follows a devastating toll of nearly 47,000 Palestinian casualties. It was reached during negotiations between Hamas and Israel on Wednesday and consists of three phases.

The second phase, which is reportedly at the heart of the agreement, involves further prisoner exchanges and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Netanyahu emphasized that the ceasefire is conditional, with Israel retaining the right to renew military operations if Hamas violates the terms of the agreement.

What US President Discussed With Tinubu as Biden lauds release of Binance Executive during 30Mins Phone Call 📞

ideemlawful profile1iDeemlawful

United States President, Joe Biden, has thanked his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Tinubu, and the Nigerian government for dropping the criminal charges against the Head of Financial Crimes Compliance at Binance, Tigran Gambaryan.

Gambaryan, a US citizen, was arrested last February while on a business trip to Nigeria  and later charged alongside his company, Binance, with laundering $35.4 million and tax evasion, which they denied.

This followed the escape from custody of his colleague, Nadeem Anjarwalla, a British-Kenyan dual national, who was Binance’s Africa Regional Manager, and had been arrested alongside Gambaryan.

But the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last week announced in court in Abuja that it had withdrawn the money laundering charges against Gambaryan to allow him to get medical treatment outside the country.

In a move to express gratitude on the development and a number of other matters of mutual interest, President Biden called President Tinubu at about 4pm on Tuesday during which the duo had a telephone conversation that lasted about 30 minutes.

Briefing newsmen on the issue at the State House, Abuja, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, said discussions between the two presidents centred around the recent discharge of Gambaryan and other diplomatic issues.

According to Tuggar, Biden expressed support for Nigeria’s quest to get a permanent seat status on the United Nations Security Council, especially with the country’s leadership roles in Africa and peace-keeping efforts and sacrifices across the globe.

His words: “The call was about the collaboration between the two countries with regards to law enforcement and law enforcement agencies, as well as the release of one of the suspects of the crypto currency exchange company that you are all aware of.

“In response, President Tinubu also thanked him and the US for the partnership and collaboration in numerous areas, and also discussed the issue of collaboration with regards to security in Africa, in particular West Africa.

“President Biden equally assured that this is a partnership that will continue and he stated, as a matter of fact, not more than not just once, but at least twice, that the future of the world resides in Africa, which is why it was important for this partnership to continue.

“The two leaders also discussed the issue of the permanent seats in the United Nations Security Council, and President Biden once again assured that the United States is committed to seeing Africa having two permanent seats and also reiterated that he does not see any reason why one of those seats should not belong to Nigeria, given its position in Africa, its stature and importance.”

Donald Trump’s reaction after Joe Biden pulls out of Election [Full Text]

Donald Trump has left a scathing review of Joe Biden after he decided not to stand for re-election.

Donald Trump has said Joe Biden is ‘the worst President in the history of the United States‘ after he announced he was stepping down from running for re-election.

He wrote on his social media platform Truth: ‘Crooked Joe Biden is the Worst President, by far, in the History of our Nation.

‘He has done everything possible to destroy our Country, from our Southern Border, to Energy Dominance, National Security, International Standing, and so much more.

‘He was annihilated in an Earth Shattering Debate, and now the Corrupt and Radical Democrats are throwing him overboard. He was not fit to serve from the very beginning, but the people around him lied to America about his Complete and Total Mental, Physical, and Cognitive Demise.

‘Whoever the Left puts up now will just be more of the same. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’

The incumbent president, who is currently self-isolating with Covid, made the announcement via a post on social media site X.

He wrote: ‘It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President.

‘And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interests of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.’

Former presidents have also tweeted their reactions including Barack Obama who wrote: ‘Joe Biden has been one of America’s most consequential presidents, as well as a dear friend and partner to me.

‘Today, we’ve also been reminded – again – that he’s a patriot of the highest order.’

And Bill Clinton paid tribute to his ‘extraordinary’ and ‘brilliant’ career as a politician.

Biden’s announcement comes after weeks of pressure from within his own party to step aside.

It follows a disastrous debate which was aired on CNN last month.

During the debate, Biden appeared confused and unable to finish his sentences.

Though he appeared to rally in the immediate aftermath of his performance, the following weeks have seen gaffe after gaffe amid frantic momentum and calls for him to step aside.

President Joe Biden finally bows out of race after weeks of Democratic Party pressure

Biden has endorsed his Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee in this year’s high-stakes election.

In a statement posted on the social media site X, Biden described choosing the former California attorney general to be his second-in-command as ‘the best decision I’ve ever made’.

The endorsement sets up 59-year-old Harris to take on Donald Trump – the Republican Party’s nominee for the third election in a row – in November

Biden Pledges $100bn Support for Israel after killing 3308 Palestinians in Gaza

ideemlawful profile1iDeemlawful October 19, 2023
ideemlawful profile1iDeemlawful

The President of United State of America (USA) Joe Biden has announced $100bn aid for Israel after its forces killed 3,308 Palestinians in Gaza.

According to reports, no fewer than 3,308 Palestinians, including over 1,000 children and 1,417 women, have been so far killed in Gaza.

This figure included about 500 people who were killed by an Israeli airstrike at a Gaza hospital, the Palestinian Health Ministry said yesterday

The ministry said the number of casualties at the Gaza City hospital, where many civilians had sought shelter, is expected to rise.

Reports say about 10,859 people have been injured in Gaza; while another 1,200 were reported missing in the occupied West Bank.
This is even as Israel’s strikes and blockade are pushing Gaza’s essential services and resources to the brink of collapse, with attendant humanitarian crisis.

This is even as Israel’s strikes and blockade are pushing Gaza’s essential services and resources to the brink of collapse, with attendant humanitarian crisis.

The relentless bombings of Gaza by Israel have caused widespread destruction to schools and hospitals and displaced nearly a million people, with aid agencies warning of a “catastrophic” shortage of medical supplies in the besieged enclave.

Justifying its brutal assault in the wake of Hamas attacks on October 7 that left at least 1,300 Israelis dead, Israel has since cut off water, power and fuel supplies and trapped 2.3 million people.

Similarly, 59 people were reportedly killed in the occupied West Bank and 1,000 others, including minors, missing under rubble.

The Gaza Strip is home to 2.3 million people and the United Nations has put the figure of the displaced so far at 1 million, including 84,000 pregnant women, 10 per cent of whom are expected to give birth in a few months’ time.

On the flip side, 1,400 Israelis have been reportedly killed with 3,500 injured; while 70 are being detained. Also, 250 victims are said to have been abducted by Hamas, among them 10 UK citizens and 20 US citizens.

Meanwhile, Biden during a visit to Israel where he met with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was committed to the decades-old US promise to ensure its ally has a “qualitative edge” over adversaries on the battlefield.

“We’re going to make sure you have what you need to protect your people, to defend your nation,” Biden said.

“Later this week, I’m going to ask the United States Congress for unprecedented support package for Israel’s defence,” he said.

While Israel enjoys strong support in the US Congress, a growing number of lawmakers from the rival Republican Party have voiced doubts about billions of dollars in military support to Ukraine against Russian invaders.

A source familiar with the talks told AFP that Biden would propose a joint $100 billion package for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan and the migration crisis at the US-Mexico border.

The package is intended to bypass congressional chaos and bring Democrats, who have sought additional aid for Kyiv for weeks, together with Republicans, who want funds to tighten controls on the southern border.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Congress in September in a bid to persuade Republicans to keep the aid flowing.

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday he would be working to approve an aid package for Israel “hopefully within the next few weeks”.

The package would include military, humanitarian, intelligence and diplomatic help, he said.

Tensions have also risen in recent months over Taiwan, the self-governing democracy that China claims and has not ruled out seizing by force.

The official US position on intervention is one of ambiguity, with the United States — which only recognises Beijing — focusing on providing weapons to Taiwan for its own self-defence.

Biden has said he would back sending US forces to defend Taiwan

President Joe Biden took a face-first tumble on Thursday after tripping over an obstacle on stage at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, but he appeared unhurt.

Biden, 80, who had delivered the commencement address to graduates of the military academy, had just shaken hands with a cadet and begun walking back to his seat when he fell.

Air Force personnel helped him back up and he did not appear to require further help.

As he rose, Biden pointed to the object that had apparently caught his foot. It resembled a small black sandbag on the stage.

Biden is the oldest person ever in the presidency and is seeking a second term in the 2024 election. His official doctor’s report this year declared him physically fit and he exercises regularly.

In November 2020, shortly after winning his election against the incumbent Donald Trump, Biden broke his foot while playing with a pet dog.
