Mark Angel replies former Crew member Denilson after Financial Allegation, gives reasons for not managing Emmanuella, Success again

Mark Angel, the popular Nigerian comedian, has addressed allegations of financial impropriety made by former crew member Denilson.

He also explained why he no longer manages Emmanuella and Success, two young comedians who rose to fame through his platform.

Popular Nigerian comedian, Mark Angel, has revealed that he stepped down from managing the careers of young comedians, Emmanuella and Success, due to his increasingly demanding schedule.

Mark Angel disclosed this during a now-viral TikTok live session recently.

According to him, the young comedians are currently managed by a professional agency.

He clarified that the decision was unrelated to recent allegations from former crew member, Denilson Igwe, who accused him of financial exploitation.

Instead, he explained that engaging a professional agency would better support the young stars’ careers while allowing him to focus on other projects.

Mark Angel assured fans that his creative partnership with Emmanuella and Success remains intact despite stepping back from management duties.

He said, “I no longer manage Emmanuella and Success. They are now being managed by a professional agency because I have more work now and am too busy to manage them. But I still work with them.”

Meanwhile, Denilson Igwe, a former member of the Mark Angel Comedy crew, has earlier alleged that Mark Angel, the group’s founder, paid him N50,000 and Emmanuella N20,000 while they were making $160k monthly in 2016.

In an interview on the “Honest Bunch” podcast, Denilson asserted that he played a pivotal role in the development of the Mark Angel Comedy skits during his time as a cameraman.

He alleged that Mark Angel, then a security guard, requested the creation of a Facebook page, which he later monetized without informing the crew.

Denilson also accused Mark Angel of misleadingly presenting a 2014 car purchase as a gift and claimed that Emmanuella, the prominent child comedian in the group, was paid a monthly salary of 20,000 Naira.

This was despite the crew being unaware of substantial revenue generated from the Facebook page, reportedly up to $160,000 per month.

Denilson, who claimed to be an orphan, stated that he felt compelled to voice his concerns because he had witnessed negative consequences for others who had spoken critically of Mark Angel.

His allegations have sparked controversy and raised questions about the financial and managerial practices within the Mark Angel Comedy group.

He said, ” I am an orphan , Mark was the elder brother of the house, he’s a security in Kilimanjaro GRA, Port Harcourt. I do camerawork for them. There was a man Ifeanyi…. on our own free time , I would do those comedies.

”Mark said let’s create a facebook page and I said okay. I don’t know when it was monetised, I just keep doing this stuff. Suddenly, 2014, he bought a car .I asked how he got the car, he said somebody gave it to him.

”He started paying Emmanuella N20K everymonth. You know we were poor, we didn’t know the value of the comedy. 2015 was the first time he gave me N50k., and we were making $160k monthly.

The only person that can talk about him is me because I am an orphan… If you have problem with him, it’d either you die or you have accident…”

Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has raised the alarm over his recent arrest, allegedly by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky took to his Instagram page to announce his arrest on Thursday night, moments after disclosing his departure from Nigeria.

He was reportedly apprehended by EFCC officials while transiting through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos en route to London.

In a late-night post, Bobrisky called on Nigerians for help, saying he was badly injured from the incident. He wrote; “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured,”

We had reported several cases of Bobrisky’s encounters with law enforcement agencies, making headlines for similar issues in the past.

Bobrisky was earlier intercepted at the Sème border by the Nigerian Immigration while allegedly attempting to flee the country on 22 October.

Recall that Bobrisky’s ordeal followed an audio recording posted by VeryDarkMan, alleging that the cross-dresser paid top-rank prison officials to secure a private prison outside the Kirikiri prison, following his conviction for abusing naira in April.

Also, the leaked audio also claimed Bobrisky paid some EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him, through the help of popular singer, Falz and his legal luminary father, Femi Falana.

Bobrisky, however, denied making these claims, stating he was not responsible for the leaked audio and urged the Falanas to hold VeryDarkMan accountable instead.

He added that the court ordered that the prosecutor should verify the sureties’ addresses while the sureties will also provide their utility bills.

Adeyanju stated that the court also ruled that VeryDarkMan will depose to an affidavit that he will be available at all times during trial.

He said, “Two million, two sureties in like terms. Sureties to deposit international passports, sureties to provide means of Identification. Sureties to depose to affidavit to provide the defendant during trial at all times.“Prosecutor to verify sureties’ address.

It was earlier reported that the police on Thursday evening detained VeryDarkMan hours after he tendered a public apology to the police for using their uniform in a viral video where he described himself as a CSP of an online division.

He made the apology in a video he posted on his social media pages after he was grilled by the police on Wednesday for alleged impersonation.

The social media influencer professed unawareness of the protocol, stating he didn’t know police permission was required to wear police uniforms or other similar ones.

He, therefore, cautioned fellow content creators to obtain necessary clearance from law enforcement before using similar uniforms for content purposes.

However, Adeyanju said the critic was detained after honouring a police invitation on Thursday.

In a post on his X handle, Adeyanju disclosed that his client had honoured a similar invitation on Wednesday.

The post reads, “Our client, VDM, has been detained after honouring a police invitation just like yesterday.

VDM has been consistent in stating that the Nigerian Police are our friends, even when we all know they are not.”
