Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State on Saturday cast his vote at Polling Unit 002, Umuezeadigo Street, in his hometown, Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.
The governor, who is seeking a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), arrived at Polling Unit 002 around 1:13 p.m. and voted after completing his accreditation.
Before election day, Soludo had urged Anambra residents to come out en masse and vote peacefully, emphasizing that active civic participation was vital to sustaining democracy.
In another statement, he described his re-election bid as a divine mission aimed at building on his administration’s progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security across the state.
Reports indicate that 16 candidates representing 16 political parties are contesting in the Anambra governorship election, with Soludo seeking to retain his seat against rivals from other parties.
