What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore & then run?
Does it stink like a rotten meat?
Or crust and rust over like an abandoned metal?
She could work and eat as much as a man
She could bear the lash when not getting it right
And produce the next generation of lives,
Does she not have hands, organs, blood, dignity, affection & dignity?
Why then do you despise her of her gender?
Do we all have to be whites to be united?
Why do you instigate a reign of terror on us for our colour?
If you stab us, do we not bleed?
If you tickle us, do we not laugh?
If you strangle us, do we not die?
Are we a nation that tolerates the hypocrisy of our leaders?
Where officials who violate the law at their will
And make our judiciary arm never have a chance to get right with the law?
Are we a nation that accepts the cruelty of our nonchalant rulers from?
Or are we a nation that values the growth and development of our society?
