Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has resumed legislative duties in the Senate following her six-month suspension.

Natasha’s return coincided with the Senate’s resumption after a 10-week recess.

Recall that the upper legislative chamber had, on July 24, 2025, adjourned plenary for its annual break and was scheduled to reconvene on September 23, 2025.

The Senate resumed plenary on Tuesday, with Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin presiding over the session.

Natasha, returning after her six-month suspension, was noticeably present, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio was absent during the sitting.

The lawmaker arrived at the National Assembly accompanied by a few activists and loyalists, including prominent activist Aisha Yesufu, who was seen in the gallery.

However, some of her supporters were denied access to the Senate gallery.

Her reinstatement follows a court ruling that described her suspension as excessive.

The Senate had earlier reopened her office to enable her return, days after the National Assembly insisted she remained suspended due to pending litigation.

Her comeback also reignites controversy surrounding her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

During her suspension, which began on March 6, 2025, Akpoti-Uduaghan was denied entry to her office, while her security aides and allowances were withdrawn.
