The Director General, World Trade Organisation, WTO, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has warned Nigerians to do away from polarisation rather unite the country.

Mrs. Ngozi a former minister of finance under both chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan’s regimes reinstated this while reacting to the controversies generated among Nigerians over her pictures of Leadership Summit in Paris, France.

Earlier on the Friday 23rd June, 2023, the former minister was dragged for been reportedly cropped out the Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu from her trending pictures posted from the summit.

President Tinubu at the summit had the opportunity of projecting on a global stage, African Economic Justice, widening the fiscal space as his advocacy among others as the world accelerates the pace of energy transition and the urgency of addressing the pressing issues of poverty.

Meanwhile, Nigerians taken on the white-blue bird space and threw verbal blows as supporters of Labour party presidential candidate in the last general elections, Mr. Peter Obi claimed that the president was shunned by the WTO DG which is to insinuate that the president was not recognize at the event by the WTO Director General while the APC and Tinubu fans fuelled it with counter stances leaving the Twitter very hot.

It could be recalled that the election that saws Bola Tinubu to Aso rock has received so many counters from his closed rivals from PDP Atiku Abubakar and LP’s Peter Obi which is why the obidients gathered on Twitter to see Mrs Okonjo-Iweala’s photos as a prove to dissatisfaction about Tinubu’s as the president of Nigeria.

Moreover, the former minister in her reaction to the misconceptions via her Twitter handle on Saturday evening, lamented why such hot blows between the Batists and obidients were allowed adding that the meanings read to her pictures by opposing fans is nothing but just polarisation nature of Nigeria.

“Nigerians please relax! Re Paris, interesting attacks from both sides , sadly shows the depth of polarisation in our society. I post photos in the order received by accompanying staff or colleagues. Reading more into it is unwarranted. Let’s unite to build our country not attack!” The DG tweeted.

However, president Tinubu who was earlier expected to return to Nigeria after the summit has found his way to London for another urgent meeting with some country heads.
