Governorship candidate of the Lagos chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran aka Jandor, may likely disclose his next political party next Monday.

This is coming as he had visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he met with President Bola Tinubu last Monday.

The meeting with Tinubu was not disclosed by Presidency officials, but sources said that the private visit by Jandor took place between 2pm and 4pm and it might not be unconnected with the next party he is planning to join following his resignation from PDP.

Former Lagos Gov candidate, Jandor, dumps PDP

Why Jandor can’t be governor, by Fashola

Recall that on March 4th 2025, Jandor announced his resignation from the party, citing persistent anti-party activities, internal sabotage, and lack of discipline within the party.

At a recent media briefing in Lagos, he alleged that some party leaders saw his candidacy as a threat to their interest and worked against him, citing instances of attacks on his campaign and condemnation from party leaders.

He accused the State Chairman of the party, Philip Aivoji, of allegedly issuing a false statement on all PDP platforms, claiming that he (Jandor) had withdrawn from the election.

Jandor also accused a former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Olabode George, a leader of the party in Lagos State, of openly declaring support for the gubernatorial candidate of another party and advising Lagos residents not to vote for the PDP.

However, when contacted a close ally of Jandor, Seun Soyinka disclosed that the politician has been meeting with different levels of political leaders and elder statesmen.

Which include former Military Head of States, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, erstwhile vice president, Atiku Abubakar, leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), members of the new Coalition among others, to determine his next line of action.

Soyinka further disclosed that Jandor and his team will hold a strategic meeting on Friday evening and another one on Saturday morning preceding when he will address a press conference on Monday to tell the public about his next move.
