JAMB, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has announced that its direct entry registration DE e-PIN sale for 2023 will end on Saturday, May 26, 2023.

The commission also stated that the registration of the persons who have been assigned an e-pin will be closed on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs, Fabian Benjamin, made the following statement on Tuesday morning, recalling that the 2023 DE registration which commenced in February 2023 was extended to all interested candidates and at some point was suspended to facilitate the inclusion of certain security measures designed to enhance the sanctity of the exercise.

“The 2023 DE Registration is unique among many other registrations as it has a number of features designed to improve the council’s ability to continuously address loopholes that have been exploited by certain stakeholders to date,” he noted. “

“Therefore, it is not surprising to see an increase in candidates for one or two of our offices. The new regime is said to have uncovered many counterfeits and other irregularities in the DE value chain, as well as the many benefits of the regulated DE registration campaign .

“One of the advantages of this work is that the board is only able to recruit deserving candidates while there are only a small number of good candidates left in the few offices of the board especially in Lagos.

Even here the board uses a scheme system which was introduced and candidates were assigned specific dates for DE registration to prevent further overcrowding.

“The committee also noted the misbehavior of some education centers and the actions of some desperate parents who allowed some A-levels education centers to engage in activities detrimental to the education sector and national interest.

“Therefore, the Board reiterates its determination to always innovate in the means and methods of checking all irregularities without hesitating to impose appropriate sanctions on any A-level awarding body found to be deficient.

All A-level institutions are asked to be vigilant as desperate candidates are deliberately jeopardizing their operations.

“Therefore, all genuine prospective DE candidates who have not yet registered are requested to come and register now as the board will not accept any further extensions,” the statement said.
