On the 20th of Jan., 2025, The Law Students’ Association (LASA) Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (KWCAILS) received an approval from the College Students Affairs regarding their motion of creating a new Association named “National Association of Kwara State Law Students (NAKLAS)” KWCAILS Local Chapter.
The motion, which was moved by the LASA President, Mukaila Habeebullah and second by the National Association Kwara State Students’ (NAKSS) President of Kwara CAILS chapter, Amuda Muhammadkabir during the Presidential meeting hosted by the Directorate of student affairs. The new Association aimed at tailoring the interests of the Kwara State Law Students and expose the College more to the world in other to meet up with other Institutions and college of the Country.
“The Association (NAKLAS) is available in various universities of the country and we deemed it fit that if our college can have this kind of Association, it will earned us more recognition at the NAKLAS NHQ ” Said LASA President.
The President further made it known that the inception of this great Association in the College was suggested by the NAKLAS NHQ’S President, R. Abdulbasit Obisesan who bagged his Diploma in Law in the College around 2016 now studying Common & Islamic Law at University of Ilorin.
The Grand Kadi of LASA also play a pivotal role in the creation of the new Association despite him not being a Kwara State Law Student, this shows the strength of Co-operation the LASA executives have build up for the up and coming LASA and NAKLAS executives.
“I’ll always stand by LASA since the innovation does not hinder my academics and it does not in anyway affects the school image” Said LASA Chief Jugde.
