The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, said he has no issues with Tinubu’s declaration as President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Obi, however said he’s challenging the process that led to his declaration as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

iDeemlawful reports, President-elect, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared as the winner of the February 25 election.

Meanwhile, the LP’s flag bearer has that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is someone he respects during his appearance on Arise TV on Monday morning, March 13, 2023.

The former Anambra State governor had insisted that to be referred to as “His Excellency”, the process leading to the emergence of such a fellow must be “excellent”.

In furtherance, Obi called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to be transparent and allow itself to be scrutinised by the public since the institution depends on taxpayers’ money.

He asked the electoral body to allow him access to materials used during the election as granted by the court, saying he was not interested in challenging who was declared as the winner of the poll, but the process that led to the declaration.

“I’m not challenging who they declared,” Obi stated, “I’m not challenging whatever…the outcome, I’m challenging the process (through) which they arrived at their declaration.”

“And unless we do that, we’re not going to stop the rascality we witnessed in that election,” he added.

“The process through which people come into office is for me…far more fundamental than what they do thereafter. There is a process of doing things. There is a process of arriving at any destination. Like I said in my press conference, if you’re going to answer ‘His Excellency’, the process of coming to that position must be excellent. If you’re going to be a Bishop, there’s a process of being a Bishop,” Obi said, insisting that getting the process right was important.

When asked if he is keeping any grudges against Tinubu, he said; “the APC presidential candidate is an elder brother. I can even call him a father. And I have respect for him and I will continue to respect him.

“I am only challenging the process through which INEC declared him as the President-elect. I have no issues with his declaration as the President-elect,” Obi said.

This is just whining from hypocrisy. Let’s the challenge of the process starts from your base where people who intended voting opposition parties to your party were disdainfully sent away from the polling units, the under age voting in the East and others. You can’t cover yourself while trying to expose others’ faults. New Nigeria is beginning on 29th May, 2023 with Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Whomever deem not so can vacate Nigeria for us. We shall stand by what we planted with massive prayer and Nigeria shall rise to her greatness under Tinubu starts by May ending in shaa ALLAH.
