UNILORIN SU Presidential Candidate Hauwa Usman Denies Involvement in Election Disruption Claims

Hauwa Usman, the faculty of law presidential candidate for students union 2021/2022 election , has categorically disavowed any association with reports circulating about her alleged involvement in disrupting an ongoing election process. She vehemently denies these accusations, emphasizing her commitment to upholding a democratic and transparent electoral process.

Usman asserts, “I urge everyone to disregard any misinformation suggesting that I or my members have engaged in disrupting the election. Such claims are entirely unfounded and do not reflect my stance or principles.”

The Faculty of Law at the University of Ilorin, which is hosting the Students’ Union presidential candidate, has echoed her sentiments and issued a formal disclaimer. A statement from the Law Students’ Society underscores their dedication to an equitable and peaceful electoral process, devoid of violence, threats, or intimidation.

The entire Faculty of Law, along with Hauwa Usman, distances itself from a circulating video suggesting the involvement of two Law Students in disrupting the voting process within the Faculty of Agric.

We remain unwavering advocates for an electoral process characterized by fairness and impartiality, and we renounce any affiliation with news that contradicts these values.

The Faculty of Law maintains its unwavering commitment to lawful conduct, and we urge the public to dismiss any baseless news that casts aspersions on our esteemed institution.”
