According to Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, the terrorist, infamous for orchestrating lethal assaults in Zamfara and Katsina states, passed away after succumbing to an unusual illness that caused him to bark like a dog prior to his death.

A notorious bandit kingpin Kachalla Dan Lukuti who terrorised residents of Zamfara has died in mysterious circumstances.

Zagazola said Dan Lukuti fell sick about a week ago, developing unusual symptoms that included violent aggression, uncontrollable spasms, and eventually continuous barking sounds resembling that of a rabid dog.

It said his gang members were unable to approach him due to the mysterious nature of his condition, forcing them to keep their distance until he finally succumbed.

Dan Lukuti was a feared bandit leader operating from the Kokonba forest in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

He commanded over 50 armed men and was responsible for multiple attacks in Dan Jiloga, Rijiya, Zonai, Magami, and along the Gusau-Magami highway, extending his criminal activities into Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Despite his terror reign, his final moments were marked by unbearable suffering, as eyewitnesses reported that he howled and barked in agony until he died.

His gang members, overwhelmed by fear and superstition, forced villagers in Kizara to conduct his burial, laying him to rest at the local primary school.

It is believed that his mysterious demise could either be linked to rabies or spiritual repercussions for his years of terror.

His death follows intensified military operations targeting bandit enclaves across the Northwest.

In another development, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State has held a second meeting aimed at brokering peace between security officials, local residents, and the terrorists who have been terrorizing the region, in an effort to end their attacks.

According to a source who witnessed the meeting and spoke to Alfijir Radio, the talks involved senior leaders of the armed groups that have long plagued the area
