The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed air passengers to power off their phones during flight take-off and landing.
Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, announced this in a post on X on Tuesday.
He explained that Nigeria’s regulations on mobile phones and electronic gadgets during flights have now been streamlined into one uniform directive.
The move follows an emergency meeting the agency held with aviation stakeholders on Tuesday.
The discussions at the meeting addressed critical issues such as unruly passenger conduct, airport security, collaboration among stakeholders, and passenger compliance with aviation rules.
