Akinroye Abdulazeez reports, 
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, on behalf of the Management, Staff and Students of Kwara State University , regret to announce the death of a 100-Level Student of Computer Science, Ajayi Gideon.

The 19-year-old student died in the early hours of Saturday, 9th October, 2021.
Gideon, known to have a special medical condition, died while in transit to the referral Hospital – University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital – at about 3:00am.
Prior to his demise, the deceased had reportedly been ill for some days and resorted to self medication. Consequently, he was said to have been found almost lifeless in his room by friends who rushed him to the School Clinic at about 2:30am. He was resuscitated, stabilized and subsequently referred to the tertiary health institution for evaluation and further management before he drew his last breathe while in transit.
However, the Vice Chancellor wishes to express his heartfelt condolences to the Ajayis and prayed that God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also implored students to desist from self medication and present all cases of ill health on time, to the school clinic, which has medical personnel and facilities for quality primary healthcare delivery.
