Guinness World Records Publishes Official Statement about Hilda Baci

Guinness World Records has released an official statement on Nigerian chef Hilda Baci Efiong popularly known as Hilda Baci.

Baci beats the personal record for the longest cooking time held by Indian chef Lat Tondon, who completed the task at Rewa in 2019 with a time of 87 hours, 45 minutes and 00 seconds.

“She wants to claim the (individual) record for the longest cooking marathon, currently held by Lata Tondon (India) with a time of 87 hours and 45 minutes,” the statement reads

The statement is  posted on the agency’s official website on Tuesday.

“Hilda started cooking on Thursday and continued until Monday, reportedly completing 55 recipes and over 100 meals in 100 hours.”

“Our records team are looking forward to reviewing the evidence and hope that Hilda’s efforts will soon be confirmed as a new record,” it added.

According to UK Reference, its spokesperson said: “We hope to receive evidence for its records management team to review before we can confirm that the records are official.”

She originally planned to stop at 4pm today and ended up beating the current Guinness World Record holder with her 96 hour target, but has now reached the 100 hour mark.
