Breaking: Aiyedatiwa Wins Ondo Governorship Election

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, has won the Saturday Governorship Election in the state.

Polling 366,781 to defeat his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 117,845 votes.

He was announced the winner of the election on Sunday afternoon.

The State Returning Officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja made the declaration.

He said, ” Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of lawful votes cast, is hereby returned elected.”

Aiyedatiwa who succeeded late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on December 27, 2023, is from Ilaje Local Government Area in the southern senatorial district of the state.

This implies that Luck Aiyedatiwa as the governor-elect of the Sunshine state
