Stating that the financial support will be disbursed through the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) Office.

Notably, this monetary palliative is unique in its scope, as it deviates from the previous bursary award system, which only covered final-year students of tertiary institutions. Under the new support scheme, all eligible students will benefit from this one-off assistance.

Committee for disbursement

The coordination of the students’ support will be overseen by a government committee led by Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, the Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB).

The committee will consist of officials from the Ministry of Tertiary Institution, the bursary department, the Ministry of Finance, and representatives from the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Kwara State.

Mode of application

The Press Secretary to the Governor added that to nsure transparency and accessibility, the committee will publish a web link through which eligible students can apply for the state bursary support.

The dates for application and further instructions will be communicated by the committee in due course.

This initiative aims to provide much-needed relief to students and security agents, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the state’s progress and development.
