2023: Labour Party Chieftain Reveals How BVAS Can Affect Peter Obi’s Victory
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The presidential campaign coordinator of the Obi/Datti ticket in Ekiti, Moses Jolayemi has submitted that if the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is not compromised, Peter Obi would win the 2023 presidential election.

Apart from guaranteeing victory for the Obi/Datti ticket, Jolayemi added that BVAS would ensure a credible and violence-free election.

The LP chieftain made the observation on Saturday at a town hall meeting in Ado Ekiti.

He also alleged that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has plans to engage in vote buying but urged Nigerians to reject Tinubu and the APC at the polls because of the sufferings they have been made to go through in the last about seven years of the current administration.

“If BVAS is allowed to work, we will have credible, violence free Election, if you look at the configuration of BVAS from the point of voting, collation, and announcing results there is no human intervention, with this, Peter Obi is the next President,” Jolayemi said.

Hoodlums Can’t Hijack BVAS
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about two weeks ago, revealed steps to be taken on election day in case hoodlums hijack the Bimodal Voter Registration Systems (BVAS) machines.

The commission said in case of such unforeseen circumstances, INEC would deactivate the BVAS machines from the backend to deny access to whoever snatched the device, so in that case they won’t be able to manipulate votes.

INEC Deputy Director of Information and Communications Technology, Lawrence Bayode gave the way out when he was featured on channels TV’s special election programme, The 2023 Verdict
