Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday stepped aside as the governor of the state to give room for a 17-year-old student of Angus Memorial secondary school, Jemimah Marcus, to oversee the affairs of the state for one day.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced this via his Facebook page, where he shared photos of the meeting.
Marcus became the one-day governor by winning the 2020 edition of the Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition.As a day governor, Marcus presided over the State Executive Council, SEC, meeting on Monday.
Speaking about the council meeting, Sanwo-Olu said, “I am delighted to say that the competition has been achieving its desired vision and objectives.





The organisers will follow up on Jemimah’s endeavour to ensure she acquires the right leadership skills and becomes a responsible citizen of Nigeria.
“I accepted the request of our one-day Governor that government should make more investment in education and human capital development. As a government we are already doing that and we will continue to do more.”
