The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to formally introduce Finidi George as the new head coach of the Senior Men’s National Team, the Super Eagles, on Monday, May 13, in Abuja.
The Minister of Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Tinuke Watti, the NFF president, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and the NFF general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, will be among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.
Finidi George, who has led Enyimba FC to two CAF Champions League titles.
He secured the fiercely contested Nigerian elite division title with the People’s Elephant in his second season.
Finidi has also positioned the club to potentially retain the title this season, with six matches remaining.
George, who as a player won 62 caps for Nigeria at the senior level, during which he won the Africa Cup of Nations gold, silver, and bronze.
He played in two FIFA World Cup finals now has the immediate task of picking maximum points from 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa (home) and Benin Republic (away) in a few weeks.
