As an African country blessed with a vibrant and energetic youth population, Nigeria stands at a critical milestone in its history. As President Tinubu assumes office, the Nigerian youths are hopeful and have high expectations for his administration. With their aspirations centered around development, empowerment, and inclusivity, the youths eagerly envision President Tinubu’s transformative policies and initiatives that will shape the nation’s future. Cutting down to these are the following important aspects that are noteworthy for this new administration.

Youth Empowerment and Employment:
This happens to be the foremost expectation of Nigerian youths. They look forward to the creation of sufficient employment opportunities and empowerment programs. President Tinubu must prioritize the establishment of policies that promote job creation, entrepreneurship, and skills development. By investing in vocational training and entrepreneurship programs, the youth can acquire the necessary skills to contribute positively to the nation’s economic growth. Furthermore, the establishment of a favorable business environment and access to finance will encourage the youth to innovate and invest, thereby reducing unemployment and enhancing economic growth.

Quality Education and Educational Reforms:
Nigerian youths are eager for a comprehensive overhaul of the education sector. President Tinubu should prioritize educational reforms that will improve educational quality, bridge the urban-rural divide, and address the issues of inadequate infrastructure and resources. The implementation of technology-driven learning initiatives and the provision of scholarships and grants to deserving students will increase the chances of improvement and growth in the education sector. Also, the inclusion of vocational training in the curriculum will equip youths with practical skills and prepare them for gainful employment, ensuring a competent and skilled workforce for the nation’s development.

Maximum Youth Inclusion in Governance and Decision-making:
The Nigerian youth have long yearned for greater representation in governance and decision-making processes than ever. President Tinubu should demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity by appointing competent young individuals to key government positions. Besides, the establishment of youth advisory boards and the incorporation of youth viewpoints in policy formulation will ensure that the voices of the young population are heard and their concerns are addressed. By actively engaging the youth, President Tinubu can foster a sense of ownership and participation, which will ultimately lead to a more inclusive and expound representative democracy.

Security Improvement:
Security remains a significant concern for Nigerian youths and everyone. President Tinubu must prioritize the safety and well-being of the citizens by implementing comprehensive security reforms. This entails strengthening law enforcement agencies, enhancing intelligence gathering, and investing in modern surveillance technology. By creating an environment conducive to business growth and personal safety, President Tinubu will rouse confidence in youths, attract capital investments, and encourage talent retention within the country, hence, reducing brain drain.

Infrastructural Development and Basic Amenities:
By prioritizing the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, railways, and power infrastructure, President Tinubu can stimulate economic activities and improve the overall standard of living to the youths’ expectations. Easy access to basic social amenities such as clean water, healthcare, and electricity is crucial for the youth’s well-being and general productivity. Therefore, the provision of these essential services should be a top priority for the administration.

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumes office, the expectations of Nigerian youths revolve around transformative policies, empowerment, and inclusivity. By focusing on youth empowerment, quality education, inclusion in governance, security, and infrastructural development, President Tinubu can lay the foundation for a thriving and inclusive Nigeria. As the youths represent the nation’s future, their aspirations must be embraced and actualized, fostering a sense of hope, patriotism, and active participation in nation-building. It is believed that President Tinubu will make an impactful change to the great Nigeria that everyone wants.
