There was pandemonium this morning, November 18, 2025, at the PDP national secretariart in Abuja among security officers as Governor of Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, and Seyi Makinde’s security aides escorted them into the PDP headquarters.
According to TheCable, the officers at first denied the governor entry until they were pushed back by security aides and supporters loyal to both governors.
Recall that after the recent national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo state, which produced some executives of the party and expelled the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, there has been a struggle for control.
The party currently has two camps, namely Governor Seyi Makinde’s camp, which held a national convention in Ibadan and produced Taminu Turaki as the new chairman of the party. This group is bent on taking over the secretariat.
The other camp loyal to Nyesom Wike is challenging the legitimacy of the Ibadan convention. Members of this camp, including Samuel Anyanwu and led by Abdulrahman Mohammed ( an Acting National Chairman in a parallel structure), have also been attempting to assert control over the party’s offices.
The Wike camp had scheduled its National Working Committee meeting today, as released in a circular yesterday, November 17, 2025.

Some critics have accused President Tinubu of being the one behind the chaos in the opposition parties in the country, a claim the President has denied, telling them to fix their issues.
