- The court will decide on Peter Obi and Labour Party’s request to live stream the proceedings on Monday
The five-member Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPC), presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, has adjourned until Monday to rule on an application by Peter Obi and the Labor Party (LP) to live stream court proceedings.
Justice Tsammani just announced this after the lawyers for the parties went through various procedures. Counsel to Obi and LP, Awa Kalu (SAN), urged the court to grant the application in the public interest.
Abubakar Mahmud (SAN) of INEC, Wola Olanipekun (SAN) of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettma and Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) of APC presented various counter-affidavits and asked the Court to dismiss the application on the ground that it is without merit and another distraction in court.
The court has adjourned until Saturday for further preliminary consideration of the request.
