The Tribunal for Governorship Election Petition in Kaduna State has said it would deliver judgement on petitions before it via Zoom.
The petition which was brought before it by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) together with its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru against the election of Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Governor
Though the proceeding was yet to commence at 9:50 am, the courtroom has been set with a provision for transmission of the judgement proceeding via Zoom.
The large screen provided, which is already connected to zoom, read EPT KADUNA 3, The Nation reports.
This is a similar scenario that played out at the Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on September 20, 2023.
The tribunal judges failed to appear in court and delivered the judgement virtually.
The tribunals in its ruling sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 18 election and ordered the withdrawal of the certificate of return which INEC presented to Governor Yusuf and directed a certificate of return to be issued to Nasir Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusuf, who contested on the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) platform, was declared the election winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While Nasir Gawuna, his APC rival, congratulated him, the party proceeded to court.
Meanwhile, Abba had headed to appeal court after rejecting the tribunal’s ruling favouring Gawuna
