At the State House in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is having a meeting with renowned Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, and Bill Gates, Co-Founder of Microsoft.
According to reports, the president met with these two powerful billionaires, but the specifics of their conversation are still unknown.
However, it is understood that discussions on global health and development issues would take place with national and local leaders, foundation partners, grantees, scientists, and young innovators.
Aliko Dangote disclosed last week that he and President Tinubu planned today’s meeting with Bill Gates during a private meeting they had at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Dangote provided State House reporters with additional information about the reason for their visit, saying, “I did not come to do much. I only came to brief the President on our meeting with Bill Gates, a friend and co-founder of Microsoft.
When we meet on Monday, we will both see the President. ”. President Tinubu’s consultations with prominent members of the local and international business community are thought to be part of his ongoing efforts to address concerns raised by investors, even though the specific topics of their discussion are still a secret.
President Tinubu promised both domestic and foreign investors in his inaugural speech on May 29 that their complaints about excessive taxation and other barriers to investment would be carefully investigated.
He also promised to make it easier for investors to remit their profit and dividend distributions to their native nations. The President also reaffirmed his commitment to putting industrial policies into action that will support domestic manufacturing and lessen reliance on imports.
In order to achieve this goal, he vowed to use a wide array of fiscal tools.
