The pair identified as ‘Aisha Zaki and Suddenly’, who have built up massive followership on the app, were said to have been involved in a physical confrontation.
Two popular TikTok users from northern Nigeria have gone physical in what has been described as their “battle for supremacy”.
According to BBC Pidgin, ‘Suddenly’ was traced to her house and beaten up by some ladies while a video of the incident found its way to social media.
In response, Aisha Zaki released a video on TikTok praising those who attacked her counterpart.
The TikTok personality was also said to have threatened Suddenly that more hostility was underway.
Kano police intervene as two Arewa TikTok users’ rivalry gets physical
Suddenly, in response to the alleged threat, made a video saying she was not afraid.
On how the fight started, Bashir Bala, a TikTok user, was quoted as saying it dates back to more than a year ago.
“In my opinion, this fight between Aisha Zaki and Suddenly is just a battle for who is more popular on Tiktok,” he said.
“At first two of them started by boasting to each other about what they have and later they started abusing each other because Aisha Zaki is based in Saudi Arabia and works there.”
While Bala called on the authorities to intervene, Abdullahi Haruna, spokesman of the Kano state police command, said the incident is currently being investigated.
