The Law Students’ Society of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, has honored renowned legal icon, Wahab Shittu, SAN, with the annual publication and presentation of the 27th Edition of The JURIST.
The event, held on June 25, 2024, at the university’s main auditorium, was hosted by the 28th President of the Law Students’ Society, Mr. SAHEED, Afeez Ayinde, and his executive team, VANTAGE ERA 2022/2023. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab O. Egbewole, SAN, was the chief host.
Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, represented by Professor R. K. Salman, delivered a thought-provoking guest lecture on “How NBA can end illegal arrest.”
In his address, the Law Students’ President, Saheed Afeez Ayinde, praised the honoree, Wahab Shittu, SAN, as a legal icon par excellence. He highlighted Shittu’s impressive career, including his role as lead prosecutor for the EFCC and ICPC, and his reputation for integrity and tenacity in prosecuting high-profile cases.
The President also expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported the Law Students’ Society’s journey of legal scholarship, particularly the publication of The JURIST for 27 consecutive years.
The event celebrated the legacy of Wahab Shittu, SAN, and reinforced the Law Students’ Society’s commitment to excellence in legal scholarship.
