The Southwest Directorate of the Law Student Association of Nigeria under the leadership of RICHARD SOLOMON is set to hold a massive multidimensional campaign on the FIGHT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE across all southwestern states on the 30th of this month.
The association believes that Domestic Violence is a menace, and they are absolutely determined to tackle it. The leader in his words said: “It is a monster we must stamp out in our society; our homes must again be a place of rest and peace. The best way to honor Osinachi is to use her case to change the situation. Let her death save the lives of other women. Let her death lead to the protection of our people from domestic violence. We will be having a walk to protest against Domestic violence in our society on the 30th of April, 2022, as encoded in chapter IV of Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and Violence against person (prohibition) Act 2015 which frowns against domestic violence at all levels”
Apparently, the law students are unwavering in their stance to do everything in their power to fight against domestic violence. The planned campaign is testament to their utter commitment to upholding the tenets of rule of law and, as potential lawyers, they strongly believe that a better Nigeria and a better society lies in their hands as patriots. According to the Southwest Zonal Director, Dist. Sen. Richard Solomon, “we must not stand akimbo when the call of humanity beckons; humanity has called us now, and we’re all set to respond”.
