Marshal Abubakar, a lawyer to the Convener of Revolution Now and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has been arrested by the Nigerian Police.
Abubakar is a lawyer attached to Femi Falana Chambers in Abuja.
Omoyele Sowore has made this known on his Facebook page on Friday.
According to the Convener of Revolution Now, Abubakar was forcefully arrested after being trailed to his home
“He has been accused of defending me.”
“They claimed he embarrassed the police by suing them and Ned Nwoko on my behalf,” he said.
Recall that, arrest and detention of Sowore was earlier reported on Thursday 24th February in Abuja following a petition by a former House of Representatives member and businessman, Prince Ned Nwoko. He was later released in the night on Thursday.
Nwoko had petitioned the Nigeria Police Force against Sowore for criminal defamation, injurious falsehood publication of news known to be false contrary to section 391, 392, 393, 394, 395, and 418 of the Penal code of Northern Nigeria
