Olori Silekunola Naomi, the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Thursday announced that “I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife”.
This is coming as Ooni was widely reported in July to have secretly welcomed a new baby with another woman.
She also seized the opportunity to correct some “misconceptions” about her.
This is the second time Ooni’s marriage will crash since he became king in 2015.
Ogunwusi had been involved in previous relationships. He had his first child Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi (born in May, 1994), with Omolara Olatubosun in Ibadan. They are co-parents.
In 2008, he married Adebukola Bombata, from whom he separated in 2016 to marry Zaynab Otiti Obanor, (his second wife from 2016 to 2017).
He wedded Prophetess Naomi in October 2018, and is presently tied to Olori Ashley Afolashade whom he introduced to his birthday party guests as his wife in October 2021.
