The much anticipated webinar tagged “Beyond Brief writing” was finally held on the 23rd of June, 2021 via a Zoom platform with the presence of Barrister. David Oluwasegun Ogundipe, an associate at Ahmed Raji & co. as the facilitator of the Webinar and Ms. Olubiyi Ayomini Oluwatoyin, a student of the faculty of Law, University of Ilorin as the moderator.
The webinar was held courtesy of the Law Students’ Society few weeks after the inception of the current administration led by Ibrahim Ismail Mojisola, President of the Law Students Society, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin.
Do recall that a webinar was held a week earlier on Data privacy and Protection Laws in the age of Artificial intelligence.

The webinar saw the attendance of considerable persons and important personalities including alumni of the University of Ilorin, Barrister Ilias Kazeem, Barrister Abdulrauf Gafar, Barrister Olusola Okunola and the guest speaker, Barrister David Ogundipe.
Also in attendance were distinguished Senior Advocate of the Union, Mr. Mustapha Atoyebi along with other Distinguished students from various Universities.
The facilitator explored and discussed the intricacies of the forms of writing that an outstanding legal practitioner ought to be familiar with. Such forms of writing include formal emails, letter writing, rejoinder, contracts, resolutions, memorandum, and legal opinions. The facilitator also mentioned the fact that research and communication are not mutually exclusive and that, they are closely related and an outstanding lawyer should strive to apply them simultaneously in order to avoid wasteful research and wrong assertions.
Towards the end of the webinar, Barrister. Kazeem Ilias, who was also in attendance emphasized the need for an effective communication. He stated that he was able to carry out his duty as a legal practitioner through the popular social media platform, WhatsApp. His client required his services urgently and he was able to resolve the issue through the use of the aforementioned social media platform.
