Some concerns indigenes of the ancient city of Ile-Ife harboring the Obafemi Awolowo University, protested the announcement of the newly announced Vice Chancellor of Prof. Adebayo Bamire.
The people of the community, identified as indigene under the aegis of Ife town and gown, had requested that a qualified Indigene should be appointed as Vice-Chancellor.

Following the announcement made on Thursday, some persons have taken to their feet, invaded the campus gate, locked the entrance and created gridlock in and out of the campus.
One of the protesters simply identified as Afolayan while addressing others at the gate said no one would be allowed into the campus Friday, (tomorrow)
