[Breaking] Zamfara Assembly Impeaches Deputy Governor

House of Assembly of Zamfara state has on Wednesday impeached Mahdi Gusau, the state’s deputy governor.

The e deputy governor was impeached at the plenary following acceptance of a report by Chief Judge Kulu Aliyu, who was asked to probe charges of corruption and disloyalty against the politician.

Mr Gusau had declined to join the APC after Governor Bello Matawalle moved to the ruling party, prompting immediate attempts by lawmakers and the governor’s supporters to force him out of office.
